About Barrington Atkins

Barrington Atkins is a Partner and Head of Sport Disputes at Simons Muirhead Burton LLP. He advises Premier League and international footballers, football agents and agencies on football transfers, representation agreements, commission arrangements, agency exits, sports disputes, regulatory matters, commercial agreements, image rights and career ending injury claims.

Barrington is regularly instructed on high value, complex and reputation sensitive matters. He has particular expertise in advising on disputes with clubs, football agency exits, representation agreement terminations, commission disputes and issues arising from football transfers, often requiring a discreet and strategic approach.

His experience includes representing elite level footballers in High Court litigation, sports arbitration and regulatory proceedings involving Premier League and EFL clubs. He also advises on academy player matters, first professional contracts, player representation arrangements, football transfers, commercial opportunities, contractual disputes and regulatory matters affecting footballers, football agents and agencies.

In addition, Barrington acts for footballers in high value sports injury claims, including football injury claims and career ending injury claims.

He is endorsed by the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) and serves as an Official Ambassador for the West Ham United Foundation.
